Metro Detroit Improv

We are a Southeast-Michigan based group of improvisers who perform short-form improv comedy, similar to what you may have seen on the TV show Whose Line is it Anyway?
For those not familiar with Whose Line, improv is a form of live theatre where the plot, characters, and dialogue of a game, scene, or story are made up entirely in the moment. We will often take suggestions from our audience to get started with each scene.
Since 2017, Metro Detroit Improv has held meetups in the Southeast Michigan community for individuals of all skill levels who want to experience improv.
We have raised thousands of dollars for various nonprofits that do great work for the community, including Common Ground, The Art Experience, MADD, The Brain Injury Association of Michigan, and The Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan.
We offer bi-monthly meetups in Livonia where we play short-form improv games for a few hours.
We also run corporate workshops for anyone looking to improve their team collaboration, communication, and presentation skills (among others!) and have had several successful workshops with well-known companies.
We also are planning to offer improv classes in the Fall of 2026. Stay tuned for more information and we will provide details when they are available if you wish to sign up!

"Thinking of a fun and creative team building activity? Look no further than MDI! They were very accommodating in the planning process. Several members from MDI came to the event and facilitated many activities. Everyone left the event feeling more confident giving presentations. Thanks MDI!"
The co-organizers of Metro Detroit Improv help to curate the bimonthly workshops that are open to the Southeast Michigan community.
